About us

Who we are

Sickle Life, established by Dr Enam Sefakor Bankas in 2013 and incorporated in 2016 as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has grown into one of Ghana’s leading Sickle Cell advocacy organizations.

With a vision to provide timely and relatable information about Sickle Cell Disease, we are committed to empowering persons affected by this condition and the general public to make informed decisions about it.

Over the years, we have built a strong community of volunteers and healthcare professionals who drive our mission of education, mentorship and support.

Through our projects and programmes, we have made significant strides in reducing stigma and improving health outcomes.

Looking ahead, we aim to establish Sickle Life centers across all regions of Ghana, ensuring equal access to care and support for every individual living with Sickle Cell Disease. Our goal is to continue leading the charge for awareness, advocacy, and comprehensive Sickle Cell care on a national and global scale.
